Character Description:

Mei Hua, or either calling her Mei or by her “official” name of Xin Taiwan will grab her attention, stands at 150 cm which makes her shorter than her “siblings” and very ashamed and embarrassed of her height. She has long dark-brown hair, along with a curly ahoge sticking out on the right side of her head, and bright brown eyes that are very good indicators of her emotions. Her national flower she had usually worn on her head has long since vanished, leading Mei on a quest to find it or a replacement for it.
Only when Mei wears very little can her flower-shaped birthmark be seen on the outside of her left thigh.

Outfit/Weapons:
Despite her name, Mei is a pink fanatic; both her casual wear and “formal” wear, both one and the same, is a bright pink-colored qipao with gold trim and long, flowing sleeves, and a long white skirt. However, no matter how much she times to protect it from weather and time, it’s covered in small, black stains and partially visible patches that show how much she has tried to preserve her pride as a country.
Sometimes, when her qipao is not available to wear for some unknown reason (to others), Mei wears a large pink shirt, that’s long and flowing as her dress, that just touches the top of her knees and that’s all!

With her status as a “Wastelander”, Mei does have a small handgun, which she keeps hoisted and hidden away in her long sleeves, to help her survive the wilderness. Surprisingly, Mei is very capable of using a firearm, as she’s usually a klutz at doing other things, and has a high accuracy rate that has Mei surprised by this "skill" as well.
A small knife is used as a secondary weapon, clasped to a belt around her waist along with her ammunition for her gun, though she rarely uses it besides using it as a basic utensil. The only time she would use it to defend herself is by throwing it at her attacker. A small canteen and pack for storing food is also found on her “utility” belt, though it only carries enough to last Mei up to 3 days max if she rations.

美/Měi does mean beautiful, but it can mean something other when combined with other characters. And, there are other characters that sound the same, yet mean something different.

(These are the ones that I can think of from the top of my head.)

In Mei's/Taiwan's case, it's 梅花, meaning Plum Blossom, which is Taiwan's national flower.
